Winter weather closures

If the University closes for severe weather, students will receive an email to their Illinois State account. The information will also be listed on the University homepage and through the University’s social media.

Excused absences for required isolation/quarantine

Everyone who tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, should isolate for 5 days after onset of symptoms, or 5 days after the date of the positive test, if asymptomatic.

Students who need to request an excused absence due to isolation or quarantine can email the Dean of Students Office with a letter from a health official that includes their name and isolation/quarantine dates. Those who test on campus will receive a letter from Student Health Services in the Patient Health Portal. Those who tested off campus must first upload test results to the portal, then email DeanOfStudents@IllinoisState.edu the letter Student Health Services will place in the portal with isolation/quarantine dates.

For more information, visit the COVID-19 FAQ site.

Student account due dates

If your student has not yet paid their balance in full, payments for spring 2022 are due to the Student Accounts Office on the following dates:

Second installment: Friday, February 11
Third installment: Friday, March 11
Fourth installment: Friday, April 8
Fifth installment: Friday, May 13

These dates are very important—past due balances will place a hold on your student’s account, which can affect their course registration for future semesters.

Register for ISU Emergency Alerts

In the event of an emergency, information will be shared with the campus community through the ISU Emergency Alert system. Alerting channels include ISU email addresses, text messaging, Facebook and Twitter accounts, the University homepage, campus phones, and various campus displays. All emergency updates can be found on the main ISU website at IllinoisState.edu.

Students should keep their information up to date on My.IllinoisState.edu. For more information, visit IllinoisState.edu/EmergencyAlert.
